About

Block containing contact information of the company such as telephone number and address. Usually placed inside the footer.

Address

Block containing an address.

This block is a banner. It typically includes an image and a text block. This does not include 'call-to-action', 'feature' or any other blocks that have a more concrete class. It includes both advertisements from ad-providers such as Google Ads and the brand's own promotions.

Call to action

Block in the body of the page that contains a button intended to get a visitor to perform a specific action. Typically buying or registering. The block usually is accompanied with a common use-case or a promotional message.

Captcha

 A type of challenge test used to determine whether the user is human or not.

Chat

Zone is a live support chat, either just the button or the whole chat widget.

Client

Name or logo of a client. It may be related to a use case, but not to a quote or review, otherwise it would be considered a testimonial. Usually, it can be found side by side with other clients, inside a wide block or carousel.

Comment

The block contains a comment or a message in a comment thread block or a chat.

Contact

Zone is a form for sending an email to the web page administrators.

Cookies

Static bar, popup or modal that informs about the cookie privacy policy. Usually with a button to accept it.

Line of text that contains copyright information of the website.

Counter

A number representing a set of items like customers, countries, or a countdown.

Email

Text block that contains an email.

FAQ

Each one of the pairs of question+answer in a 'Frequently Asked Questions' section.

Feature

Block explaining one of the features that the company's products offer. Usually it is a block of text with a header and a paragraph side by side with other features, a related picture or an icon. Features are a very open category, as use-cases and field specializations are also considered features.

Filters

Zone is a list of filters.

The bottom section of the page, that usually contains a bunch of links to other pages of the website such as the privacy policy and copyright information. It can also contain widgets such as social links, newsletter registration and recent posts.

Form

An area with spaces to write or select.

The top-most section of the page, that usually contains the menu and a logo. It's usually fixed to the top of the window, even if the user scrolls down.

Hero

In some pages, this zone is the first section. It contains either a wide, static image or an automated carousel. Usually highlights or summarizes the main activity of the company.

Job Position

The section of a page that contains job listings.

Languages

The zone is a link, button, drop-down menu or list of countries, regions or languages that link to the corresponding version of the web-site or to a language-selection page. It usually refers to the full list, not the individual items, which may be 'none' or 'navigation'.

Login

The button that already registered users click in order to access their personal space in the site.

Newsletter

Button or form that the visitor can fill to register to the newsletter service of the website.

Pagination

In lists, widget with links to different pages in which the list is split. Usually a list of numbers or a 'next' or 'previous' button. It is most usually found in e-commerce and blog pages.

Partner

Name or logo of a company, organization or certification organism that supports or is used by the company or its products.

Zone is a popup dialogue.

Post

Small block of text with a link to a post in the company's blog or social network profiles. It is often found inside the footer, grouped in a 'recent posts' widget.

Pricing

Product

Block showing a product. Note that depending on the type of company, this concept can be quite open. Retailers will usually contain a 'buy' button as well as the price. Manufacturers will only show information about the product and a link to that product's detailed description. Also can include software or service descriptions.

Register

The button that the user clicks in order to open the registration form. Note that this button is just for new users, already registered used would use the login button.

Review

The zone shows a score. Either a review, a summary of reviews, etc

Shopping cart

In e-commerce, button that opens the shopping cart.

Team member

Block containing the name, position and picture of a staff member of the company.

Testimonial

Block containing the subjective opinion of a client or a partner. Quotes and reviews are both a kind of testimonial. They usually contain a picture of the reviewer (or a logo for companies), a paragraph with the review or quote, and the name of the reviewer. It may also contain a score.
