In today’s digital landscape, staying on top of mentions about the company, competitors, their leadership teams, industry trends, and key market topics is critical. Kompyte simplifies this with automated listening, tracking mentions across Google News and supporting Boolean searches to help you fine tune results, uncover trends quickly, and take action with confidence.
Getting Started
Navigate to the Settings section by hovering over your logo in the top right corner.
From the Settings menu select Listening Alerts
Click Add an Alert on the right side.
Configuring a New Listening Alert to Monitor Company Mentions
Enter the company name for Kompyte to monitor online and which company, if any, to auto-assign the alert results to (with Kompyte you can set alerts for untracked companies and topics in which case a company would not be auto-assigned).
With Kompyte's Boolean search capabilities, you can go deep and refine results by specifying keywords that must be included in the text and keywords that should be excluded.
*We highly recommend adding Boolean keywords to include and exclude to ensure relevant mentions only are detected.
After plugging in the keywords, click Create.
Configuring a New Listening Alert to Monitor Industry Topics
When creating an alert for an industry topic, enter the trending keyword in the All of these Keywords section.
If there are different variations of the keyword like the example below, instead, plug the keyword variations into the At least one of these keywords section.
With this example, no company needs to be selected for the auto-assignment.
Duplicating a Listening Alert
Save time by duplicating an existing alert and using it as a template for similar alerts you wish to configure. This is especially useful in situations where you have included several Boolean keywords to include and/or exclude.
To duplicate an existing alert, open the alert and click the Duplicate link on the bottom left-hand corner.
This will create a copy of the previous alert. From here, make any necessary updates to the alert name, required keywords, and the auto-assigned company. Click Update.
Configured alerts will display in the Listening Alert list view along with a total number of detected mentions broken out by source.
Editing or Deleting Listening Alerts
To edit an alert, drill into the alert, make the associated edits and click Update.
To delete an alert, click the Trash icon and click Confirm from the notification box.
Muting Sites
Block irrelevant websites by tabbing over to Muted Websites
Enter the websites you wish to mute and click Done.
To mute websites globally across all listening alerts, navigate to Global Muted.
Once you have entered all the sources you wish to mute click Create.
Accessing Detected Mentions
Once you have completed the above steps, your Listening alert is now ready and Kompyte will start detecting and tracking mentions in the Collect feed under the Listening Source.
In the Collect feed search bar, refine the listening results by filtering by the alert name, company, date range, source, and more.
The filtered results will appear in a chronological feed.
Click directly onto the article title or the source icon in the top right corner access the article by clicking View Source.
From here you can also mute this alert source for this specific listening alert or globally to mute it for all listening alerts.
Click on the 3 dots from the Collect feed to select additional options such as sharing, viewing the history, duplicating the mention, editing companies the mention is associated with or editing the taxonomy.
