How to Create Product Level Traits & Battlecards

When a company has multiple product-level Battlecards, it’s important to set up separate traits for each product. This prevents values from overwriting or conflicting across different Battlecards.

Step 1: Navigate to Settings-> Boards and traits

  1. Click your logo in the top right corner and select Settings.

  2. From Settings, go to Boards and Traits

Traits are the strategic sections of Battlecards. Traits allow you to define key values, upload attachments, add links, and organize information. Boards help you keep traits grouped and structured.

Step 2: Create a Product-Level Board

  1. Boards appear in alphabetical order. To keep a board at the top, you can prefix it with an asterisk (*) or number (1).

  2. Click Create New Board and enter the product name (ex: Product A).

  3. Click Create to save your new board.

Step 3: Add traits to Your Board

  1. Click Create a Trait and enter the trait name (ex: Product A Key Points) and click create.

  2. Repeat for other traits, such as Product A Strengths or Product A Weaknesses.

  3. Optionally, you can duplicate the entire board to create a similar board for another product:

    • Duplicate the board (ex: Product A)

    • Use the pencil icon to rename the Board and Trait names (ex: Product B)

    • Update all trait names to match the new product

Step 4: Create the Battlecard

  1. Go to Battlecards and click Create Battlecard.

  2. Choose either a template or From Scratch.

  3. Name your Battlecard (ex: Product A Battlecard).

Step 5: Add Traits to the Battlecard

  1. Click Add Widget either in the center of the screen or in the top right corner.

  2. Navigate to Curated Traits->Select Traits to find the traits you created.

  3. Add the relevant traits, such as:

    • Product A Key Talking Points

    • Product A Strengths

    • Product A Weaknesses

  4. Drag, drop, and reorder widgets to customize layout.

  5. Optionally, enhance your card by adding logos or using Smart traits for a more polished look.

Step 6: Duplicate for Other Products

  1. Duplicate an existing Battlecard instead of starting from scratch. Drill into the Battlecard, click on the three dots in top right corner and select Duplicate.

  2. Navigate the Battlecard title and update the Battlecard name to the new product using the pencil icon (ex: Product B Battlecard).

  3. Hover over the top right corner of each trait, and click on the gear icon.

  4. Click the arrow to the right of the Trait name and re-point the trait to the corresponding product’s trait. Repeat this process for all Battlecard traits.

This process ensures you have separate, organized Battlecards for each product without overwriting information.
